Note - George has now released an 'Encounters on the Edge' booklet written on 'Seven sacred spaces' which was explored during this teaching weekend. It was there that George admits to adding the seventh sacred space - the chapter house. (This booklet is available here or see the related products below.) A set of talks and led group discussions by George Lings, the director of the Sheffield Centre (the Church Army UK’s research unit) and specialist in church planting and fresh expressions, explores where we are on the re-imagining of church. George covers a wide range of material including: the rising stream of change about church since 1910; a change model; where we are now; six monastic places; what is negotiable about church; what is church. This set also contains group discussions led by George around some of these topics. The content was recorded live during a Northumbria Community Teaching Weekend in 2009. 1. 'Where are we in the re-imagining of church?' 2. 'Six monastic places and what is negotiable about church' 3. 'Group discussion on the negotiables and non-negotiables of church' 4. 'Group discussion on the 'Six monastic places'' 5. Resource CD: PDF files of talk slides and handouts Talks 1, 2, 3, 4 and the resource CD in this series are also available individually. This series is recorded in normal Audio CD format and can be played on any CD player or computer. An MP3 CD version and downloads are also available. |
